Killalea State Park, on the NSW coast at Shellharbour, is Crown
Land dedicated to public recreation. It is managed by the Killalea
State Park Trust. |

The Park contains a variety of habitat types, including beaches, estuary,
mangroves, coastal rainforest and freshwater wetland. It contains at least
3 rare and endangered plant species.
Popular activities include surfing (2 beaches), fishing (beach / rock
/ river), walking and picnicking.
Camping Area Facilities: (Please also see Park
Services on Home Page)
- Toilets.
- Hot showers.
- Camp Kitchen (electric BBQs,wash-up area and undercover dining/seating).
- All sites are UNPOWERED.
- The Camping Area is approximately 10 minutes walk to the Mystics
Beach and 15 minutes walk to the Minnamurra River.
- Mosquitoes and Sandflies: Depending on wind and weather conditions
occasionally there are mosquitoes and/or sandflies in the camping ground.
It is advisable to bring the necessary repellents.

- Persons under the age of 18 will not be allowed
to stay without adult supervision.
- BONDS: Unfortunately, due to behavioural problems
experienced in the past, we are forced to introduce a behavioural security
bond for young adults. A bond of $50 per person is payable on arrival.
The bond will be forfeited in the event of any complaints/problems.
Otherwise, the bond will be refunded on check-out.
- Camp sites must be paid for in advance, or on arrival to the camping
area, but BEFORE SETTING UP.
- Camping is permitted only in the designated Camping Area.
- Camping Area facilities are for the use of campers and authorised
guests only.
- Guests wishing to have visitors must report to the office for prior
approval - charges may apply.
- Noise must be kept to a minimum and cease by 11.30pm.
- NSW Government regulations apply as to alcohol consumption. No underage
drinking will be tolerated.
- Vehicles must not be driven around the camping area unless leaving
the park.
- Dogs are NOT permitted in the camping area.
- Open fires are NOT permitted except in constructed fireplaces and
selected sites with BBQ provided.
- NO vegetation is to be removed from the bushland. Firewood and Ice
may be purchased from the office before 4.00pm.
- Caravans and motorhomes are welcome.
Camping Rates:
$30 per site per night, extra adults $15
each
$5 per child under 13 (third child free)
$40 per night for a family of 2 Adults
and up to 3 Children under the age of 13 years
- Bookings must be made between the hours of
8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 4.00pm Friday. Bookings
are not taken after hours or on weekends.
- Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of payment.
- Payment must be made in full.
- Bookings are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE.
- Credit card payments incur a credit card transaction fee.
- Minimum 3 night stay will apply to all bookings for Easter and Christmas.

Bunkhouse:
$20 per adult per night
$14 per child per night (under
the age of 13 years)
- The Bunkhouse is "backpacker" style accommodation.
- Beds are single bunk beds. You need to supply your own pillows, linen
and blankets.
- The Bunkhouse consists of 8 rooms each with a different amount of
beds. There are a total of 40 beds.
- The Bunkhouse does not have any facilities inside (eg toilets, showers,
kitchen). You have access to the facilities in the camping ground, which
include BBQ area, toilets and hot water showers.
Bonds for Bunkhouse: $20 cash key bond
per key and a $200 cash room bond is required on arrival and will be refunded
in full providing all the key / s are returned and there is no damage
to the room / s.
