Killalea State Park, on the NSW coast at Shellharbour, is Crown
Land dedicated to public recreation. It is managed by Killalea State
Park Trust.

It features stunning views in all directions, and a range of public
recreation facilities consistent with environmental conservation.
Natural features include sandy, rocky shores, coastal dunes and heath,
river frontage, tidal mangroves, fresh-water lagoon, subtropical and littoral
rainforest remnants and an offshore island.
Popular recreational activities include:
- SURFING with two great surf beaches: Killalea Beach (The Farm) and
Minnamurra Beach (Mystics);
- FISHING (from rock, beach and river);
- PICNICS (at several sites throughout the Park);
- CAMPING (with toilets, showers and undercover BBQ area).
The park also features bush and coastal walking trails, and is within
hiking distance of Bass Point Reserve and the picturesque Shellharbour
village.
The park includes the Killalea Training Centre (a Registered Training
Organisation) specialising in training and assessment for WorkCover OH&S
and Plant Operators and RTA Traffic Control.
Also on site is the Illawarra Environmental Education Centre (NSW Department
of Education and Training).
- Park entry is free.
- The Park is open 4.30 am to 8.45 pm DAILY (after hours access for
authorised campers only).
- Office Hours are Monday - Friday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm.
- Water is bore-water: not suitable for drinking.
- Beaches are NOT patrolled.
- Mosquitoes and Sandflies: Depending on wind and weather conditions
occasionally there are mosquitoes and/or sandflies in the park. It is
advisable to bring the necessary repellents.

- Vehicles and drivers are subject to NSW Traffic Regulations and penalties.
- Vehicles are only allowed on formed roads and carparks.
- Speed limit in the Park is 40 kph (15 kph in Camping Area)
.
- Dogs are NOT permitted in the Park.
- Fires are only permitted in BBQs and permanently constructed fireplaces.
- Vehicles must NOT remain in the park after 8.45 pm (authorised campers
excepted).
Infringement notices may be issued under the Crown Lands Act
for non compliance of park rules.
(Automated boom-gates prevent entry/exit between 8.45 pm and 4.30 am
without PIN-code access. PIN codes are available to authorised campers
on receipt of payment).
